About the ECC

The Community House Early Childhood Center is the home of new beginnings and exciting adventures for children in the early stages of life. Our safe, friendly and nurturing program encourages the development and individuality of each and every child who comes through our doors, allowing them to grow at their own pace.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Children ages six weeks to eight years experience our active learning environment where they develop problem solving skills through the use of the nationally recognized HighScope curriculum. The HighScope approach, founded by Dr. David Weikart, is based on key learning indicators rather than traditional preschool themes, meaning we provide the children with opportunities to develop their critical thinking skills through dynamic learning sessions.

Your children will love the curriculum because they are continuously learning while doing activities that are also fun!

Our teachers are carefully chosen through an extensive interview process. They are selected on the basis of their educational backgrounds, their ability to meet the individual needs of the children and their overall teamwork skills.

The majority of our teachers have formal education or training in the field of Early Childhood. We believe that ongoing training is not only important, but also imperative. All of our ECC teachers receive formal HighScope training, and attend conferences and monthly training meetings to ensure the highest quality of educational training is reached.
